Marking the Proper Mounting Points on the Skis
- Obtain bindings paper 'jig' indicating positions for mounting holes.
- check manufacturers website or local ski shop.
- Find Ball of Foot (BOF) mark on the sidewall of the ski which indicates where to line up your boot to the ski.
- To manually find BOF mark,
- Place skis base to base.
- Squeeze out camber using clamps.
- Measure points from tip to tail where skis come into contact with each other.
- Divide distance by 2 to find BOF mark.
- Determine where boots belong on skis.
- Find mark on bottom of the boot indicating exact center.
- Draw a line down the exact centerline of the ski to make cross-hairs between centerline of ski and BOF mark.
